When the calendar ticked over to the year 1505 the world still existed. It wasn’t meant to. The painter Sandro Botticelli thought that the world was going to end in 1504, but it kept going. It might have been something similar to the moment after Y2K when nothing happened. That was similar to the end of the 13th b’ak’tun with the whole 2012 Mayan calendar phenomenon when famously a bunch of stuff all didn’t happen. The world has always been about to end, then it just keeps going on and all we can do is wait.
