Grade 6 Leadership programme

This year the Grade 6 students have engaged in a leadership programme led by Grade 6 teachers, Helen Wilson, Michelle Youl and Catherine Langley.
After exploring what leadership means, from different perspectives, the students had the opportunity to apply for the Junior Campus leadership positions of School Captains, House Captains, Performing Arts Leaders, Library Leaders or Environment Leaders. When making decisions, we referenced the Primary Years Programme (PYP) attributes and dispositions of the Learner Profile and the School values. We also had a focus on leadership and safety at School, to ensure all are on board with reducing any incidents of unsafe behaviour or bullying.

Letters were written, interviews conducted and staff and students voted. Each and every applicant was impressive! We completed the process by announcing our Junior Campus leadership team to the Grade 6 students this week.
