Opening Doors to Independent Schooling
At Launceston Grammar, philanthropy plays a vital role in shaping the educational opportunities we can offer, particularly through scholarships that support children from less privileged backgrounds. These scholarships do more than provide access to an excellent education; they reflect our deeply held values of love, humility, costly service, grace and hope, and our mission to nurture, challenge and inspire every young person in our care.
For many families, the cost of independent schooling can place this pathway beyond reach, regardless of a child’s talent and potential. Philanthropic giving helps remove this barrier, ensuring that financial circumstances do not define a child’s future. Scholarships open the door to high-quality learning environments where students are supported to grow academically, socially, and personally.
The impact extends well beyond the individual recipient. When students from diverse backgrounds learn together, our community becomes richer, more inclusive, and more reflective of the world in which our graduates will live and lead. These varied perspectives help all students develop empathy, resilience, and a deeper understanding of others.
Philanthropic support also ensures we remain true to our purpose. By investing in scholarships, donors strengthen Launceston Grammar’s commitment to equity, opportunity, and transformative education. They help build a legacy of hope for future generations.
Donors often speak of the joy that comes from knowing their generosity has changed the course of a young person’s life. A scholarship can uplift not just an individual, but their family and their wider community.
In May 2026, we will be inviting our community to unite for our second Giving Day, supporting our Community Scholarship Program. Every gift, large and small, helps open doors, live out our values, and offer life-changing opportunities to deserving young people.
If you are interested in joining our matching donor program to support our 2026 Giving Day please contact myself or Principal, Dale Bennett.
