We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable OSHC Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operation of our After School Care and Vacation Care programs. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated educator to step into a leadership role and shape a dynamic, child-centred OSHC program.

Working closely with the Head of Junior Campus and Manager of Early Learning Centre (ELC) you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality care, strong team performance and a safe, engaging environment where children thrive.

About the Role

The OSHC Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the daily operations of After School Care and Vacation Care, ensuring sessions run smoothly, safely and in line with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).

Acting as the Responsible Person during OSHC sessions, you will lead program delivery, support educators, engage with families and maintain strong compliance and operational practices.

This is a hands-on role, including opening and closing responsibilities and active involvement with children and educators throughout the program.

This role is a part time role, working 30 hours across 5 days (Monday to Friday). The hours of work will be 11.30am to 6pm.

As part of this role, you will be required to:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operation of After School Care and Vacation Care, including routines, transitions, attendance and session close-down
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive programs that reflect children’s interests, strengths and needs
  • Lead Vacation Care planning, including excursions, risk assessments, permissions and resources
  • Act as the Responsible Person during OSHC sessions
  • Maintain active supervision and ensure safe educator-to-child ratios at all times
  • Promote child-safe practices, positive behaviour guidance and respectful interactions
  • Support and supervise educators, providing clear direction and practical guidance
  • Build strong, professional relationships with children, families and the wider school community
  • Ensure health, safety and risk management procedures are followed, including incident response and communication
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with service and regulatory requirements
  • Support continuous improvement, compliance and quality assurance processes

About You

You are a confident and organised OSHC professional who enjoys leading a team and creating engaging experiences for children. You bring a practical, hands-on approach and a strong commitment to child safety and wellbeing.

You will demonstrate:

  • Experience in OSHC, school age care or a similar child-focused setting
  • Ability to coordinate daily operations, including staffing, routines and program delivery
  • Strong understanding of child safety, supervision and safeguarding practices
  • Confidence in leading educators and providing clear direction
  • Ability to act as a Responsible Person within delegated authority
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in record-keeping
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
  • A collaborative, proactive and solution-focused mindset

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certificate III or Diploma in Children’s Services, School Age Education and Care, or similar (preferred)
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Card (WWVP)
  • National Police Check or willingness to obtain
  • Current HLTAID012 First Aid qualification in an Education and Care Setting.
  • Current HLTAID009 – Provide CPR
  • Demonstrated commitment to child safety and wellbeing

Shape the Foundations of Learning: Manager of Early Learning Centre at Launceston Church Grammar School

Launceston Church Grammar School is an Anglican co-educational day and boarding school in northern Tasmania. Known for educational excellence and a strong, values-based community, we provide rich learning and co-curricular experiences for students from Early Learning to Year 12.

We are seeking applications from experienced and committed early childhood leaders to join Launceston Church Grammar School as the Manager of Early Learning Centre (ELC) + OSHC until the end of 2026, with the potential for ongoing employment subject to review prior to the end of the school year.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of the Junior Campus, the Manager of ELC is responsible for the educational leadership, operational management, and compliance of the ELC, catering for children from 3 years of age.

This role incorporates the responsibilities of Nominated Supervisor and plays a key role in ensuring compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standards (NQS), and ACECQA requirements.

This role will also encompass time on the floor supporting our teachers and student as part of their day-to-day interactions.

As a member of the Junior Campus leadership team, the role contributes to school-wide strategy, continuous improvement, and community engagement, while modelling the values and ethos of the School.

As part of this role, you will be required to:

  • Provide educational and operational leadership for the ELC
  • Fulfil the responsibilities of Educational Leader and Nominated Supervisor, ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, support, and develop ELC staff, fostering a positive and professional team culture.
  • Ensure high-quality teaching, learning, and wellbeing outcomes for children.
  • Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and the wider school community.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including staffing, rosters, routines, and events.
  • Manage budgets and resources in consultation with the Head of the Junior Campus.
  • Support smooth transitions from the ELC into Prep.
  • Collaborate with enrolments and marketing teams and represent the ELC at tours and community events.
  • Oversee the OSHC program in partnership with the OSHC Supervisor and actively participate in providing care as part of the program.
  • Provide support on the floor to the team during peak periods and to cover lunch breaks

About You

Our classes range from Early Learning to Grade 12 across two campuses. The Senior Campus is situated at Mowbray Heights and the Junior Campus is located in East Launceston.

We are interest in hearing from you if you have:

  • tertiary qualifications in Education;
  • current registration with the Tasmanian Teacher’s Registration Board, or be eligible for registration;
  • current registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Tasmania) or be eligible for registration.
  • sound knowledge of the Australian Curriculum;
  • previous teaching experience is desired;
  • demonstrated high level communication skills; and
  • sound ICT skills, particularly in the use of computers as a learning technology in skills;
