Make a Lasting Impact in the Lives of Boarding Students at Launceston Church Grammar School 

Launceston Church Grammar School is an Anglican co-educational day and boarding school in northern Tasmania, renowned for excellence in education, wellbeing and community connection. Our Boarding House is a welcoming and supportive home away from home for students from across Tasmania, mainland Australia and overseas. 

We are seeking a compassionate, organised and energetic Head of Girls Boarding to join our Boarding team in a full-time leadership role. This position includes two rostered nights per week within the Boarding House and alternating weekend on-call duties during School term time. 

This role is a residential position with the applicant required to reside on campus.  

About the Role 

The Head of Girls Boarding works closely with the Head of Boarding to support the leadership, culture and daily operations of the Girls Boarding House. This role plays a key part in ensuring students are provided with a safe, caring and enriching residential experience that supports their wellbeing, academic engagement and personal development. 

The successful candidate will lead and support Boarding House Assistants and Tutors while maintaining a strong and visible presence within the boarding community. This is a highly relational role suited to someone who is passionate about supporting young people and creating a positive, home-like environment. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Provide leadership and supervision within the Girls Boarding House during rostered duties  
  • Foster a safe, inclusive and supportive living environment for boarding students  
  • Support the social, emotional, spiritual, academic and physical wellbeing of students  
  • Maintain positive routines and expectations that support student wellbeing and academic success  
  • Coordinate and oversee student leave, travel arrangements and boarding logistics

Help Create a Home Away From Home at Launceston Church Grammar School

About the Role

About the Role

Create Meaningful Experiences Beyond the Classroom

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivational Careers Advisor to lead the delivery of career education, counselling, and pathway support for senior secondary students in Grades 10 to 12.  This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and capable advisor to step into a highly self-directed role.

This is a part-time position, 0.6 FTE, offered as a fixed-term contract for the remainder of 2026. The School is open to discussing the working pattern and reviewing the role with a view to continuation into 2027.

About the Role

The Careers Advisor is responsible for leading the delivery of career education, counselling, and pathway support for senior secondary students in Grades 10 to 12. The role provides individual and group guidance, coordinates key careers programs and events, and supports students, families, and staff in preparing for successful transitions to tertiary study, training, and employment.

This is a stand alone role, reporting to the Assistant Director of Learning, with high levels of autonomy and self-direction. The role will provide you with opportunity to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

As part of this role, you will be required to:

  • Provide individual career counselling and pathway guidance to senior students, supporting post-school transitions including university, training, apprenticeships, and employment.
  • Assist students with tertiary applications, scholarships, accommodation, and work readiness skills such as résumés, interviews, and job search preparation.
  • Plan and deliver careers education programs, presentations, workshops, and enrichment activities for students across multiple year levels.
  • Support students, parents, and staff throughout subject selection processes, ensuring informed pathway planning aligned to student goals and strengths.
  • Coordinate careers events, industry engagement activities, school visits, and partnerships with universities, training providers, employers, and community organisations.
  • Maintain effective careers communication through school platforms and provide accurate reporting, record keeping, and budget management for careers programs and services.
