The Grammar Graduate Program begins in Grade 10 and is designed to nurture and inspire our older students in their senior secondary journey. Students are provided with varied learning experiences which will prepare them for the future that lies beyond the School gate.
On average, over 95% of Launceston Grammar Grade 12 students achieve the Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE).
An extensive selection of Grade 11 and 12 TCE courses are offered by the School, from outdoor education to computer science, agricultural science to ancient history, physics to French and creative writing. This ensures that students are well prepared if they wish to pursue university education.
Other courses, such as construction and agriculture, prepare students for destinations such as TAFE, employment, traineeships and apprenticeships, and specialist tertiary colleges. In addition, students in Grades 11 and 12 can participate in Vocational Education and Training (VET) subjects and Australian School-based Apprenticeships (ASbAs). These options allow students to attain industry certification whilst engaging in meaningful practical studies and workplace learning, alongside their more traditional school subjects.
Launceston Grammar’s Careers Centre is a contemporary and welcoming resource assisting students as they transition through school to life beyond Grade 12. The School offers intensive pathway planning to our Grammar Graduates with a qualified Careers Advisor and VET & Workplace Learning Coordinator on hand to meet with students and/or parents. They are also able to provide excellent information regarding various training and information sessions whether it be presentations from universities or the chance to upskill by signing up for short courses.
