John is a Masters-qualified engineering executive with more than 30 years’ experience leading asset-intensive organisations across the water, aviation, oil and gas and Defence sectors. He specialises in enterprise asset management, infrastructure sustainment, capital governance and strategic transformation within highly regulated, safety-critical environments.
John currently serves as Head of Asset Lifecycle Management at TasWater, where he leads whole-of-life asset strategy to support sustainable service delivery across Tasmania. His leadership has included Board-endorsed enhancements to the Asset Management Policy and Strategic Asset Management Plan, and oversight of major asset renewal and digital programs to strengthen resilience and risk management.
John previously held senior executive roles with Airservices Australia, where he was accountable for a significant national asset portfolio. He has led enterprise-wide alignment to ISO 55001 international asset management standards and strengthened investment planning, governance and assurance frameworks to support Executive and Board decision-making. His earlier career includes asset leadership on the Victorian Desalination Project with Ventia and service as an Engineering Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force.
John holds a Master of Maintenance and Reliability Engineering from Monash University, a Graduate Diploma of Business Administration from Deakin University and an Honours Degree in Engineering (Aeronautical) from University of New South Wales.
He brings to the Board deep expertise in strategy, risk oversight, capital investment governance and organisational performance, with a strong focus on long-term value, resilience and sustainable outcomes.
