Launceston Grammar launched its Leadership Lunch programme at the Senior Campus with Tasmanian Premier, Peter Gutwein as inaugural guest speaker.
Launceston Grammar Headmaster, Richard Ford said the programme is designed to inform students and staff about ‘leadership in action’.
“We believe it is important for our students to hear from leaders who can provide advice and inspiration around their personal leadership journey to date,” says Richard.
Launceston Grammar Co-Captain Thomas Foster said we were extremely fortunate to be able to listen and receive advice from an admirable leader within our state.
“Mr Gutwein highlighted the importance of having a go and not being afraid of failure noting that ‘failure is only failure’ if you don’t learn from your failures,” says Thomas.
“We heard from the Premier about the importance of standing true to your values and what you think is right even when others around you are telling you different.
“He also shared with us the most important thing about leadership is about doing what is right not what is popular, and for many of us something we aspire to do.”
The School will be looking to roll out the programme with other guest speakers invited to inspire the next generation of young learners and leaders.
