Giving at Launceston Grammar

Philanthropy is at the heart of Launceston Grammar’s history, success and values. Our donors choose to give because they know their actions transform lives and shapes the future of our great School; ensuring an environment that continues to nurture, challenge and inspire well into the future.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who makes a gift to the School, we thank them and recognise their support through donor events and in the pages of News from Launceston Grammar.

Annual Fundraising

Our history of giving

In 2021 we have something very special to celebrate, our 175th anniversary. Our School’s foundation was possible thanks to people’s generosity. From the moment a committee was formed in 1838 to petition for a grant of land behind St John’s Church, support from people has underpinned the possibilities we have pursued and the achievements of the School.

From the construction of the first School building in the 1840s, to the move to Mowbray in 1923, to the building of the Chapel and every item within, to expansions in the 1980s as the School grew after the amalgamation with Broadland, to more recent developments like Faulkner Park, Café 1846 and the Aviation space, all these wonderful achievements would not have been possible without donations of all sizes, from small to large. Your gift is part of this success.

Choose your impact

Gifts of any size, to any of our campaigns, are greatly appreciated, and all make a significant difference.
Donations (over $2.00) to either the Launceston Church Grammar School Scholarship Fund Trust or Launcestonian Foundation Library Trust Fund are tax deductible.

There are a number of ways scholarships and bursaries can operate. Contact us to find out more giving@lcgs.tas.edu.au.

By creating a scholarship or bursary, you can have a real and immediate impact on the life of a student. There is no greater gift than a quality education.

Junior and Senior Campus Libraries

Libraries have changed dramatically in the past 175 years from small bookshelves in a hall to dynamic places of learning and discovery. Help us continue to nurture the curiosity of students with a gift to the Library Fund.

Buildings

Help us restore, revitalise and renew our historic buildings with a gift to the Building Fund. The School’s Master Plan will be released later this year and your gift will help enable this important work.

Giving back to the community

Volunteers are vital in supporting the School. They assist in a variety of areas including the DV Gunn collection researching, cataloguing and documenting historic items as well assisting with public enquiries and donations. Launceston Grammar past and present parents volunteer as members of various committees including the Old Launcestonians’ Association committee and Broadland House Old Girls Association committee and as members of Parent Association groups.

Volunteer

Volunteering at the School provides a number of key benefits, including being part of a supportive team, developing new skills and knowledge, and giving back to the Launceston Grammar community.
